The temple is considered the earliest centre for public education in Thailand, and the marble illustrations and inscriptions placed in the temple for public instructions has been recognized by UNESCO in its Memory of the World Programme. Next, continue your cultural trip to the Grand Palace, which has been the major architectural symbol of The Thai Royal family. Built in 1782, the Grand Palace was a former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the palace is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, State guests, and other foreign dignitaries. Just a short walk, you will make within the complex is Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The Buddha image seated in a meditative posture, made from green jade, clothed in gold. This is Thailand's most important sacred temple housing the utmost precious religious icon.
